My Mother's Words
Walk quietly across the earth
And take wisdom in all you do
Listen to the whispering winds
For they announce the rain
Travel the roads with a light heart
For days when life shares heavy loads
Give thoughts to words for those around
Remember we all share the same father
Always stride with your head held high
But not let pride stop you asking for help
Each day I carry my mother’s words
For they were always said in love
For my beautiful children

Choice
If the other side of wisdom is folly
And love is looked upon as such
I have no choice but to follow
And give no ears to the words
Of disbelieving grieving hearts
From those once touched
Then pulled apart
If life is only two sides of a coin
A choice to love or not at all
I’ll take the risk though I may fall
For I know God gave me wings
So, above it all… I could rise

The Poet's Wall

The artist's brush did not remiss
Passion kissed in heaven’s bliss
With colours ablaze in light of day
Love's face etched in sun filled rays
The sculpture came upon the brick
Passion forged thin and thick
With eternal life he did engrave
Love's faith would never cave
The writer laid his pen to paper
Passion rose in steamy vapour
With words alight new and old
Love's story there did unfold
For on that wall, lay the poet’s dream
Passion kissed in heaven’s bliss
With colours ablaze in light of day
Love's face etched in sun filled rays
The sculpture came upon the brick
Passion forged thin and thick
With eternal life he did engrave
Love's faith would never cave

It's Funny

It’s funny the way life sings
Changes the wind, hard then slow
Then we’re drawn to do the things
We should have done long ago
To take the risk, follow a dream
Take in all life has to teach
To do the things that could seam
Far beyond our longest reach
In sought after words, like those of love
We take a chance, though worlds apart
Hold our breath and prayer above
And declare all that is in our heart
Then as the years go by, by your side
The house of joy, our dreams did soar
We watch in arms, the kids with pride
And say I couldn’t have wished for more

The Angels
And the angels whispered
I didn’t listen …
And the angels spoke
I didn’t listen …
So the angels sang
I stopped …
For before them
you were there.

The Rose

Weeping from insincerities
Across a rose did haunt
Blood red tears over petals
Spiritless and daunt
The river bank held wild roses
Gathered in ruby red pairs
Dancing in twilight breezes
Of not ours to share
Bone-weary I wilt away
Longing your velvet touch
Searching for love mislaid
Petals blackened, arid, tough
Amongst sorrows weight
I renounce, and drop away
Plunging in full fright
Sun dimming into grey
On satin water I did fall
Drifting through each day
Spring shower, sun and squall
Till stopped sharp by a gaze
Reflecting petals cherry red
Your eyes fixed and haunting
A smile of single hopes thread
To a new life dawning
Across a rose did haunt
Blood red tears over petals
Spiritless and daunt
The river bank held wild roses
Gathered in ruby red pairs
Dancing in twilight breezes
Of not ours to share
Bone-weary I wilt away

Innamorare
Innamorare …
With every breath Inflamed in love
Our passion now replaces sleep
On clouds, we walk the streets
Innamorare … inflamed in love
Innamorare …
With desires heat inflamed in love
Our bodies dance to tango beats
On endless days our lips meet
Innamorare … inflamed in love
Innamorare …
With two hearts inflamed in love
Our words repeat those of Keats
On peach summer nights we meet
Innamorare … inflamed in love

Lady Spring

Mystically descending on the earth
She lightly showers my crippled wing
Soft blanket cascading emerald green
In sweet spring my soul’s rebirth
Watch in silence eyes my passed years
Woven passages without a yesterday
Memoirs drowned in ocean’s tears
Soul’s fabric drifting torn and frayed
Springs warm breeze envelopes my body
I relinquish loneliness, mournful grey
Interweaving dancing love, as lightly
Upon her breast desolation thaw away
Warm lady graciously hold my heart
Serenely glimmering across forever
Till wind’s breath carries us apart
Beckoning bitter winter to sever

Ti Amo

A woodcutter tapped upon a tree
There he gave me birth
Spruce, maple, ebony
Taken from the earth
Strings, neck, scroll Bridge,
Body screaming from their bow
Composers raced their figures,
Sonance would not flow
Centuries I did lay Dormant
In deep disheartenment
You took me in your arms,
Their breath an enchantment
Nestled under your warm chin,
Your bow unveiling mystery
Each note profound accord,
Finger, bow and string
Hold me till the sun goes down,
In pure loves harmony
My heart will shed a crystal tear,
As together we will play
Ti Amo … molto lentamente
Hold me till the sun awakes,
And in mornings blissful rays
My voice will rise and sing
Ti Amo … Molte forte
There he gave me birth
Spruce, maple, ebony
Taken from the earth
Strings, neck, scroll Bridge,
Body screaming from their bow
Composers raced their figures,
Sonance would not flow
Centuries I did lay Dormant

Inside Text
Extrait from The book
Love … It is a binding force that unites and holds us from the day we are born. The word love evokes a multitude of different emotions and exists equally in as many forms. It has been said that love is easier to experience than to explain. To explain love, would not give justice to the power of emotions felt, however our understanding of love is one that can be shared. Love has inspired artists, philosophers, musicians and writers to do just that, to share the beauty, deceptions and mystery of love.
We have held throughout history a longing to delve into the workings of this incredible force. We have attempted to define it, mystify it, and have even deified love. In Irish mythology we see the representation of fertility and passionate love through Aine and that of beauty, youth and sensual love through Aonghus. Some of the more famous deities being found in Roman and Greek mythology have inspired countless texts. These include, Cupid, Aphrodite and Venus the Goddesses of beauty, and Eros the God of passionate love. They are still talked about to this day and have found their way into modern day language.
Agape, in Greek refers to love but in particular its roots stem to the meaning of a pure love, the love of the soul. It also has similar definitions equivalent to that of Eros which is defined as a passionate love. Plato defined eros as an appreciation of the beauty within a person and an eventual appreciation of beauty itself. According to Plato, Eros enables the soul to recall the knowledge of beauty in its spiritual truth. As in Plato’s definition of love, one thing is often heard from those in love. The world appears brighter, the flowers smell sweeter and the sun shines brighter. Aristotle took the definition of love further. He described love as loyalty to friends and family. It is something that requires virtue and equality. His views encompass the various forms of love that we posses for those around us and the world we live in............
